Michelle Haskell (she/her), is a triple threat and choreographer from Cincinnati, Ohio. She
received a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University focused in Contemporary Modern dance. Michelle has worked with companies such as Pones Inc., Aerial Dance Chicago’s LaunchPAD, and Chicago Tap Theatre. Before VCU, she performed with The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and traveled nationally as a backup dancer for the recording artist EBEN. While attending VCU, Michelle performed at The Institute for Contemporary Art in Richmond and Space 28 while in Australia. She has had the privilege to work with choreographers such as David Neumann, Robin Davis, Molly Smith, Tre Dumas, Mark Yonally, Sterling Harris, Glenda Figuieredo, and Brianna Kell. Outside of the dance realm, she is a professional singer and actress who starred in the feature film Imagined and danced in the Netflix film White Noise. Choreographically, she showed her own works A Numb Collection and Nesting Kin while attending VCU, and helped with the musicals Spring Awakening and Little Shop of Horrors. After Moving to Chicago, Michelle presented her work Just Pretend and, with Chicago Tap Theatre, Let’s Widen The Scope. She is very excited to be returning to DOB for another season and can’t wait to watch the students flourish!
