YOUTH Class & LEVEL Descriptions

Lovebug Program

Lovebug classes are specially designed for our youngest independent dancers, ages 3–5 years old. These creative movement-based classes introduce the fundamentals of various dance styles while helping dancers develop balance, coordination, rhythm, and confidence. Through imaginative play and expressive movement, children build foundational skills in a fun and supportive environment. No prior dance experience is required. Please note: this is a drop-off class and does not include parent participation.

Lovebug tots (18 Months - 3 Years)

Lovebug Tots is a 30-minute "grown-up and me" class designed for dancers ages 18 months to 3 years old. This playful and engaging class invites our youngest movers to connect with their caregivers while exploring movement through imagination, music, and a gentle introduction to the world of dance! Please note: this is a caregiver and dancer class. A Grown up must be attending class with dancer.

Lovebugs Ages 3-5y

Lovebug ballet

Lovebug Ballet introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of ballet through playful movement, imaginative games, and fun visual imagery. This class is a wonderful way for little ones to discover the joy of dance while building coordination, musicality, and foundational ballet skills in a supportive and creative environment.

Lovebug ballet/jazz

This combo class is a fun and imaginative introduction to the world of dance for our youngest movers! Dancers will explore the basics of Ballet and Jazz through playful exercises, storytelling, and creative movement. With a focus on rhythm, coordination, and musicality, this class helps build confidence and classroom skills in a nurturing and upbeat environment. Perfect for budding dancers ready to twirl, leap, and groove!

Lovebug combo

This upbeat, fast-paced class combines Ballet, Tap, and Jazz—keeping your dancer moving, smiling, and engaged from start to finish! It’s a fantastic introduction to multiple styles of dance, helping young dancers build coordination, rhythm, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

Lovebug hip-hop

Lovebug Hip Hop introduces young dancers to the basics of hip hop in a high-energy and upbeat class filled with fun! Dancers will explore rhythm, coordination, and expressive movement—all while building confidence and having a blast.

mini program

Mini classes are designed for dancers ages 5–7 years old, with no prior dance experience required. These classes introduce a variety of dance styles while helping dancers build balance, coordination, rhythm, and confidence. Building on our Lovebug program, Mini classes begin to incorporate more structured technique, while still using imaginative play and games to keep learning fun and engaging!

mini ACRO/jazz (new class!)

Mini Acro/Jazz is designed for dancers ages 5–7 who are ready to build strength, flexibility, and confidence through both acrobatic arts and jazz dance.The Acro portion of class focuses on developing proper technique through stretching and conditioning exercises, providing the foundation for safely learning beginner-level skills such as forward rolls, backward rolls, bridges, handstands, cartwheels, and other dance-specific tricks. Dancers will also begin to explore how to seamlessly integrate acro movements into their overall dance technique. The Jazz portion introduces upbeat, stylized movement, musicality, and basic jazz vocabulary. Dancers will work on sharp, energetic choreography that complements their acro work and encourages expressive performance. This combo class is perfect for young dancers who love to move, flip, and perform with personality and precision!

mini Ballet

Mini Ballet introduces young dancers to the foundational elements of ballet in a fun, imaginative, and age-appropriate way. This class begins to incorporate more structure and technique, helping dancers build strength, posture, coordination, and musicality. It’s the perfect next step for dancers ready to deepen their understanding of ballet while still enjoying a creative and supportive environment.

mini Ballet/hip-hop

This fun and high-energy combo class introduces dancers to both Ballet and Hip Hop in one dynamic experience! In the Ballet portion, dancers will learn basic positions, foundational technique, and introductory ballet vocabulary, all within a structured and supportive setting. In the Hip Hop portion, dancers will explore rhythm, musicality, and full-body movement through floor exercises, isolations, and across-the-floor combinations that build coordination and confidence. This class is perfect for young dancers who love to mix graceful movement with high-energy grooves—and want to explore two exciting styles in one fun-filled class!

mini ballet/jazz

This energetic combo class introduces young dancers to both Ballet and Jazz, giving them a well-rounded foundation in two essential styles. In the Ballet portion, dancers will learn basic positions, foundational technique, and introductory ballet vocabulary in a supportive and structured setting. In the Jazz portion, dancers will explore upbeat movement, musicality, and expression through floor exercises, body isolations, and across-the-floor combinations. This class is perfect for dancers who enjoy both the structure of ballet and the lively, expressive style of jazz—all in one fun and engaging class!

mini combo

This lively combo class introduces young dancers to Ballet, Tap, and Jazz—all in one fun-filled class! Building on the fundamentals learned in our Lovebug classes, this class keeps dancers moving and engaged while exploring three foundational dance styles. Dancers will develop coordination, rhythm, musicality, and basic technique in an upbeat and encouraging environment. Mini Combo is a wonderful opportunity for young dancers to discover what they love and gain confidence through a variety of movement styles—all in one exciting class experience!

mini HIP-HOP

Mini Hip Hop is a high-energy class that introduces dancers to the fundamentals of hip hop while beginning to explore more challenging movements and combinations. Each class includes a warm-up, stretching, across-the-floor exercises, mat work, and a fun, age-appropriate hip hop combo—plus games and activities to keep dancers engaged and excited to learn. It’s the perfect class for young movers who love to groove, build confidence, and express themselves through upbeat and dynamic movement!

Mini Program

mini 2 program

Mini 2 classes are designed for dancers ages 5–7 years old with prior dance experience. Ideal for dancers who have completed Mini classes but are not yet ready for Level 1, this class introduces more technique and advanced movement concepts. Dancers continue to develop balance, coordination, performance quality, and confidence. Mini 2 builds on the foundational skills from our Mini program and is available by placement or recommendation only.

mini ballet 2

Mini Ballet 2 is designed for young dancers who are ready to continue building their ballet foundation with more focus and structure. This class introduces essential ballet technique in a fun and engaging way, using creative movement, music, and age-appropriate exercises. Dancers will begin to develop strength, balance, posture, and vocabulary while gaining confidence and a love for ballet in a supportive environment.

mini jazz 2 (new class!)

Mini Jazz 2 is perfect for young dancers who are ready to build on their foundational jazz skills with added technique and structure. This upbeat class focuses on jazz vocabulary, musicality, coordination, and stylized movement. Dancers will strengthen their flexibility, balance, and performance skills through fun warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and energetic combinations—all while having a blast in a supportive and encouraging environment.

LEVEL 1

level 1 program

Level 1 classes are beginner-level classes recommended for dancers ages 7–9 years old with little to no prior dance experience. These classes introduce the fundamentals of each dance style while building technique, confidence, and a love for movement. With a more structured format than our Lovebug and Mini programs, Level 1 focuses on developing foundational skills and terminology to prepare dancers for future levels, all within a supportive and encouraging environment.

ballet 1

In this foundational class, dancers will be introduced to basic ballet positions and begin developing the proper body alignment essential to classical ballet. Dancers will build their ballet vocabulary through barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor combinations. Focus will be placed on musicality, coordination, and foundational concepts such as rotation, port de bras (carriage of the arms), and proper posture. Students will also begin to explore introductory turns and jumps—both stationary and traveling—while continuing to develop grace, strength, and confidence in their movement.

contemporary 1

Contemporary 1 introduces dancers to the expressive and evolving style of contemporary dance, encouraging them to explore both technique and personal movement quality. Class begins with a guided warm-up that includes stretching and full-body movement to prepare dancers to travel through space with control and fluidity. Contemporary fundamentals are developed through center work and across-the-floor exercises that include transitional steps, jumps, turns, and grounded floor work. Dancers will also learn a choreographed combination each class, allowing them to practice picking up movement, connecting emotionally with music, and developing their own unique style. Concepts such as improvisation and storytelling through movement will be introduced in a fun, creative, and supportive environment.

HIP-HOP 1

Hip Hop 1 introduces dancers to the foundations of hip hop while encouraging individual style, self-expression, and confidence. Dancers will explore rhythm, coordination, and musicality through a variety of hip hop styles, with an emphasis on the cultural roots and history of the genre. Class includes foundational movements such as grooves, footwork, floor work, and freestyle exploration, all taught in a high-energy and supportive environment. Students will build a strong hip hop vocabulary while developing performance skills and personal expression through dynamic choreography and class combos.

JAZZ 1

Jazz 1 is a high-energy class that introduces dancers to the fundamentals of jazz dance in a fun and engaging environment. Dancers will begin with a dynamic warm-up focused on stretching, strengthening, and isolations to build control and body awareness. Throughout the class, emphasis will be placed on rhythm, coordination, and musicality as students develop beginner jazz vocabulary including basic turns, jumps, and across-the-floor progressions. Each class concludes with a choreographed combination, allowing dancers to apply technique, explore personal style, and express themselves through movement.

musical theater 1

Musical Theater 1 is a fun and expressive dance class that focuses on storytelling through movement, combining dance and performance skills. Dancers will begin with a jazz-based warm-up and beginner across-the-floor exercises to build foundational jazz vocabulary, then move into acting activities that help develop the tools needed to convey character and emotion through dance. Each class ends with a choreographed combination that blends technique with storytelling, using music from both classic and contemporary musicals. This is a great class for students interested in performing in musicals or simply looking to have a great time expressing themselves on stage.

tap 1

Tap 1 introduces dancers to the fundamentals of tap dance in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers will learn basic tap steps, rhythms, and terminology while building a strong foundation in musicality, timing, and weight shifts. The class also focuses on developing coordination, balance, and listening skills—making it a great choice for dancers of all levels looking to explore the rhythmic and expressive world of tap.

LEVEL 1X PROGRAM (new level)

Level 1X is an intermediate-level class designed for dancers ages 7–9 who have prior dance experience or demonstrate strong potential and readiness for a more accelerated pace. This class builds on the foundational skills of Level 1 while introducing more technique, structure, and movement combinations to help dancers prepare for a smoother transition into Level 2. Level 1X offers a supportive yet challenging environment focused on refining fundamentals, building confidence, and encouraging focused progression.

BALLET 1X

Ballet 1X is an elevated version of Level 1 Ballet, designed specifically for dancers on our competition team or those ready for a more focused and disciplined ballet experience. This class builds on foundational ballet technique with increased attention to alignment, strength, and precision. Dancers will work on developing a strong technical base through barre work, center exercises, and across-the-floor progressions, while also enhancing their performance quality and control. Ballet 1X is ideal for dancers who are committed to refining their skills and advancing within a more rigorous training environment.

JAZZ 1X

Jazz 1X is an advanced version of Jazz 1, tailored for dancers on our competition team or those ready to take their jazz technique to the next level. This class focuses on refining foundational jazz skills with greater emphasis on precision, strength, and performance quality. Dancers will engage in challenging warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and dynamic choreography that builds versatility, musicality, and confidence. Jazz 1X is perfect for dancers committed to rigorous training and excelling in a competitive dance environment.

HIP-HOP 1X

Hip Hop 1X is a more advanced hip hop class designed for dancers on our competition team or those ready for a higher level of technical skill and performance. This class builds on foundational hip hop moves with greater focus on precision, rhythm, and dynamic style. Dancers will learn challenging choreography that highlights sharp footwork, grooves, floor work, and freestyle elements, all while developing strong musicality and stage presence. Hip Hop 1X is ideal for dancers committed to pushing their skills and excelling in a competitive environment.

CONTEMPORARY 1X

Contemporary 1X is an advanced contemporary dance class designed for competition dancers or those ready to deepen their technical skills and expressive movement. This class builds on foundational contemporary techniques with greater emphasis on strength, control, fluidity, and dynamic choreography. Dancers will explore complex floor work, turns, jumps, and improvisation while developing their own unique movement quality and emotional expression. Contemporary 1X is ideal for dancers committed to refining their artistry and excelling in a competitive dance setting.

level 1/2 program

Level 1X is an intermediate-level class designed for dancers ages 7–9 who have prior dance experience or demonstrate strong potential and readiness for a more accelerated pace. modern 1/2

Modern 1/2 is a foundational modern dance class designed for dancers building strength, flexibility, and expressive movement. This class focuses on developing core modern techniques such as contraction and release, floor work, alignment, and flow between movements. Dancers will explore dynamic choreography that encourages creativity, musicality, and emotional connection, helping them transition confidently from beginner to intermediate modern dance skills.

poms 1/2 (new class!)

Poms 1/2 is an energetic class designed to introduce dancers to the fundamentals of pom technique and performance. Dancers will learn basic pom motions, sharp arm movements, precise footwork, and synchronization skills, all while building strength, coordination, and rhythm. This class combines dance technique with spirited performance elements, encouraging confidence, teamwork, and stage presence. It’s perfect for dancers looking to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.

jumps/turns 1/2 (new Class!)

Jumps & Turns 1/2 is a focused class designed to help dancers develop the fundamental techniques needed for executing jumps and turns with strength and control. Dancers will work on building balance, alignment, spotting, and proper body mechanics through targeted exercises and drills. This class emphasizes safe progression and increasing difficulty, allowing dancers to gain confidence and precision as they master a variety of jumps and turns. It’s a great class for dancers looking to improve their technical skills and enhance their overall performance quality.

LEVEL 2

level 2 program

Level 2 classes are beginner/intermediate-level classes recommended for dancers ages 10–12 or those with 2–3 years of dance experience. These classes build upon the foundational skills learned in earlier levels, introducing more complex techniques and combinations in each dance style. Level 2 emphasizes continued growth in strength, coordination, and performance, while fostering confidence and a strong sense of community in the studio.

In Ballet 2, students continue to develop the proper body alignment essential to classical ballet while learning a wider variety of steps, including more challenging jumps, turns, and progressions. The class places strong emphasis on stretching and strengthening to support technique, ensuring dancers execute movements with precision and control. As combinations become more complex, dancers build strength, coordination, and confidence, preparing them for more advanced ballet training.

contemporary 2

Contemporary 2 builds upon foundational contemporary technique, offering dancers the opportunity to deepen their personal movement quality while focusing on proper alignment and control. This class introduces more advanced improvisation and floor work, along with challenging progressions and combinations. Emphasis is placed on smooth transitions, musicality, and expressive storytelling, helping dancers develop the skills to convey emotion and narrative through their movement.

HIP-HOP 2

Hip Hop 2 is designed for dancers who are growing in confidence and ready to take on faster-paced choreography and more complex movements. This class explores a variety of hip hop styles, including popping, locking, and breaking, while encouraging students to express their individuality and personality through dance. Dancers will continue to build their foundation of steps and movements, deepen their understanding of hip hop history and culture, and work on increasingly challenging footwork and floor work. Hip Hop 2 is perfect for dancers seeking a fun and engaging environment where they can be challenged and continue to grow.

JAZZ 2

Jazz 2 is a high-energy class that builds on foundational jazz concepts and technique through focused warm-ups emphasizing stretching, strengthening, and isolations. Students will continue to develop rhythm, coordination, and jazz vocabulary, including more advanced turns, jumps, and across-the-floor progressions. The class introduces more challenging techniques through expanded exercises and combinations designed to enhance style, musicality, and self-expression.

tap 2

Tap 2 builds upon foundational tap techniques, helping dancers refine their skills and expand their tap vocabulary. The class emphasizes musicality, rhythm, and weight shifts, while continuing to develop essential fundamentals such as balance and coordination. This fun and engaging class is designed to help dancers grow in confidence and precision as they progress in tap dance.

level 2/3 program

Level 2/3 classes are designed for dancers ages 10–13 who are ready to progress beyond beginner technique and begin exploring more intermediate-level skills. Ideal for dancers with 2–4 years of experience, these classes bridge the gap between Level 2 and Level 3 by introducing more complex movement patterns, musicality, and performance quality while continuing to reinforce strong foundational technique. Classes are faster-paced and encourage confidence, consistency, and community.

MODERN 2/3

Modern 2/3 builds on foundational modern dance techniques, guiding dancers through more complex movement sequences and deeper exploration of expressive movement. This class emphasizes strength, fluidity, and control while advancing skills in floor work, contractions and releases, and dynamic transitions. Dancers will engage with challenging choreography that encourages creativity, musicality, and emotional storytelling, helping them refine their technique and develop a strong personal movement style.

JUMPS/TURNS 2/3 (NEW CLASS!)

This technique-based class is designed for dancers in Levels 2 and 3 who are ready to refine and advance their skills in turning and jumping. Dancers will work on a variety of turns (including pirouettes, chaine, piqué, and soutenu turns) and jumps (such as jetés, sautés, and leaps), with a strong emphasis on strength, control, and proper body alignment. Dancers will also build musicality, coordination, and precision to improve their overall performance quality.

LEVEL 3

level 3

Level 3 classes are recommended for dancers ages 12+ or those with at least 4 years of dance experience at an intermediate to advanced level. While prior dance experience is required, it does not have to be in the specific style of the class. These fast-paced classes focus on advancing technique, introducing complex concepts, and refining performance skills. Level 3 is by placement only.

ballet 3

Students will continue to develop the proper body alignment essential for classical ballet while being introduced to a wider variety of steps, including more difficult jumps and turns. Building on a strong ballet foundation, dancers will explore increasingly challenging concepts and techniques. The complexity and length of combinations will increase, pushing dancers to refine their technique and endurance. contemporary 3

Contemporary 3 builds on advanced contemporary technique, encouraging dancers to deepen their personal movement quality while focusing on proper alignment and control. This class introduces increased improvisation, floor work, and more challenging, extended progressions and combinations to push technical and expressive skills. Emphasis is placed on seamless transitions and musicality, helping dancers develop the ability to emote and tell stories through their movement.

JAZZ 3

In this Jazz class, dancers will further expand their jazz vocabulary by mastering more complex turns, jumps, and intricate progressions and transitions. The class incorporates challenging stretching and strengthening exercises designed to build strength, flexibility, and control. Emphasis is placed on developing individual style and performance quality, preparing dancers to execute dynamic jazz choreography with confidence and precision

HIP-HOP 3

Hip Hop 3 is designed for dancers who are confident in their skills and ready to tackle faster-paced choreography with more complex moves and grooves. This dynamic class explores styles such as popping, locking, and breaking, encouraging students to express their individuality and develop their unique voice through movement. Dancers will continue expanding their repertoire of steps while deepening their understanding of hip hop’s rich history and culture. With increasingly challenging floor work and footwork, Hip Hop 3 offers a fun, athletic, and high-energy environment perfect for dancers seeking a greater challenge and exciting growth.

pre pointe / pointe 1

This class is designed for dancers preparing to begin pointe work or taking their first steps en pointe. The Pre-Pointe portion focuses on building the strength, alignment, and technique necessary to safely transition to pointe, including exercises targeting foot, ankle, and core stability. Once dancers demonstrate and pass the pointe exam, they will progress to Pointe 1, where they begin learning basic pointe technique, focusing on proper placement, balance, and controlled movements. This class requires instructor approval to ensure dancers are physically prepared for the demands of pointe work.

level 3/4 PROGRAM

Level 3/4 classes are designed for intermediate to advanced dancers ages 12+ who have a strong technical foundation and several years of dance training. These fast-paced classes bridge the gap between Level 3 and Level 4, introducing more advanced concepts, challenging choreography, and refining both technique and performance quality. Dancers are expected to have prior experience in the specific dance style and demonstrate focus, consistency, and commitment. Level 3/4 classes are by placement only.

acro 3/4

Designed for intermediate to advanced acro dancers, this class builds upon the foundational strength, flexibility, and skills developed in Acro 1/2. Dancers will work on more complex tricks such as aerials, back handsprings, chest stands, and walkovers, while continuing to develop control, technique, and safe progressions. Emphasis is placed on fluid transitions, balancing, and integrating acro seamlessly with dance choreography. Instructor approval or successful demonstration of Acro 1/2 skills required.

modern 3/4

Modern 3/4 is an advanced modern dance class designed for experienced dancers ready to deepen their technical skills and artistic expression. Building on previous training, this class focuses on complex choreography, refined floor work, dynamic use of breath and energy, and sophisticated transitions. Dancers will explore advanced techniques such as release, contraction and release, and improvisation, while continuing to develop personal style and emotional storytelling through movement. This class challenges dancers to enhance strength, control, and fluidity in preparation for higher-level performance and competition.

musical theater 3/4

Musical Theater Jazz 3/4 is a high-energy class for intermediate/advanced dancers looking to refine their Musical Theater Jazz technique while exploring performance and storytelling through movement. Dancers will focus on building strength, flexibility, precision, and character development, all while dancing to popular and classic Musical Theater songs. This class is perfect for students looking to take their dance training to the next level, whether for school productions, auditions, or the pure love of the stage. A strong foundation in jazz technique is required.

LEVEL 4

level 4 program

Level 4 classes are advanced level classes, recommended for dancers ages 12+ with at least 4 years of experience and a strong technical foundation. Dancers must have prior experience in the specific style of the class. These fast-paced classes focus on advanced technique, complex choreography, and performance refinement. This class emphasizes precision, strength, and artistry, focusing on advanced jumps, turns, extensions, and fluid transitions. Dancers will refine their alignment, turnout, and musicality while developing greater control and performance quality. Ballet 4 prepares dancers for pre-professional training, performances, and competitive environments, with an emphasis on discipline, endurance, and expressive movement.

This class challenges dancers with complex choreography, intricate floor work, and sophisticated improvisation. Emphasis is placed on fluidity, dynamic transitions, and emotional storytelling through movement. Dancers will refine their alignment, strength, and musicality while exploring personal artistry and depth in their performances. Contemporary 4 prepares dancers for professional-level work, competitions, and advanced performance opportunities.

jazz 4

Jazz 4 is an advanced, high-energy class designed for dancers ready to refine and elevate their jazz technique. This class focuses on complex choreography, sharp and precise movements, and dynamic styling. Dancers will work on advanced turns, leaps, isolations, and progressions, emphasizing strength, flexibility, and musicality. Jazz 4 encourages individual artistry and performance quality, preparing dancers for competitive settings, showcases, and professional-level work.

hip-hop 4

Hip Hop 4 is an advanced, high-energy class designed for dancers with strong foundational skills who are ready to master complex choreography and advanced hip hop styles. This class focuses on precision, rhythm, sharp footwork, intricate grooves, and dynamic floor work. Dancers will explore diverse hip hop styles including popping, locking, breaking, and freestyle, while developing individual artistry and stage presence. Hip Hop 4 prepares dancers for competitive teams, performance opportunities, and professional-level training.

pointe 2 (NEW CLASS!)

This ballet class introduces dancers to pointe work and the use of pointe shoes. Enrollment is by invitation only and requires dancers to be at Level 4 with instructor approval. Please contact the studio for more information and to determine readiness for this class.

TEEN BEGINNER

teen beginner

This level is designed specifically for teens who are brand new to dance or have limited prior experience. Dancers will build a strong foundation in technique, movement vocabulary, and musicality through beginner-level combinations in styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, or hip hop, and musical theater. Emphasis is placed on developing coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. No prior dance experience is required—just a willingness to learn and have fun!

teen beginner musical theater

Teen Beginner Musical Theater Jazz is a class designed for dancers ages 13+ who are looking for a fun class while working on their technique in Musical Theater Jazz. This is a Jazz technique based class that works to use the technique to tell a story through movement. This class will be set to popular Musical Theater music and is perfect for the dancer who is looking to brush up on their dancing for a school play or just wants to learn a new skill in a fun and supportive environment!
