Marissa Shanbrom is a dancer, choreographer, and dance educator from Dresher, PA. She earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Towson University in 2017, where she performed works by Darrell Grand Moultrie, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Kim Bears-Bailey, Runqiao Du, Vincent Thomas and more.

Marissa has performed professionally throughout the East Coast with Philadanco, Philadanco’s Second Company (D2), SynthesisDance, Carnival Choreographer’s Ball, Six Flags Great Adventure, and at Koresh Dance Company’s Come Together Dance Festival with Project Moshen. Since relocating to Chicago in 2018, she has performed with Alluvion Dance Chicago and is currently a company member with Simantikos Dance Chicago, in addition to teaching dance and instructing at Barre3.

As a choreographer, Marissa has presented work at Koresh Dance Company’s Come Together Dance Festival, KYL/D’s Inhale/Exhale Performance Series, Trifecta Dance Festival, Simantikos Choreo Kick-Off, Chi Dance Fest, Emergence Dance Festival, and Dance Parade New York. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Movementum Dance Project, a Chicago-based professional dance company where she also dances and choreographs. Most recently, she performed with Movementum at the World Congress of Dance Research in Athens, Greece.

Marissa is thrilled to be returning for another season at Dance on Broadway and looks forward to watching each student continue to grow!
