introduction to ballet
Whether it’s your first dance class or you’re revisiting ballet, this class offers a welcoming and supportive environment to explore the basics of ballet. We spend 30-40 minutes at the barre focusing on foundational movements like pliés, tendus, degagés, rond de jambes, and more. The rest of the class will be center work which may include adagio, tendus, across the floor exercises, small jumps, and a grande allegro when time permits. Ballet is challenging, even in an intro class, but with patience and persistence, progress will come. This class is designed as an introduction level of ballet and there is always room for questions and adjustments to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident as they learn!

This all-levels class is a safe space designed to help dancers and hobbyists alike develop technique and performance presence in heels, while improving self-confidence for the real world. Students will receive a brief five-minute warm-up (in socks or barefoot!) that will get them comfortable walking in heels. We will then dive into a ten-minute, full-body stretch to get your muscles prepared to werk. Every class, you will learn how to properly walk in heels across the floor, followed by a short combo for the remainder of class with a focus on musicality, lines, grooves, hair whips, and floor work.
